Story

This picture was painted March 2007. I prepared it in part for my admiration of his music but more so for a friend of mine who is a huge John Mayer fan. To date, attempting to get this painting signed thankfully did not take as long as some of the others. My intention had been to wait at the Sydney venue where john was going to be playing, however I managed to learn which hotel John had been spotted at the day before his show, and so I arrived late afternoon and began waiting.

As the evening progressed I prepared myself to be there for quite some time having waited by then for 3 hours. Then suddenly, I saw John walk out of the hotel. There was no car waiting for him and he was accompanied by just a couple of friends, I walked over and showed him my work and he looked surprised saying, “ wow that’s really cool “. I asked if he could sign it for me which he did very kindly, I found John to be very approachable and pleasant, he shook my hand and with that, he slowly walked with his friends onto the streets of Sydney’s nightlife.
