This guy reaches high on the list of the most kind, gentle and friendliest of all the legends ive met. Having experienced it myself I've read many remarks by even other rockstars, who all claim the same thought.

Poor Mr Cohen, he was 74 on this tour when I met him in February 09. from what I learnt he’d been badly managed in recent times thus causing him to tour out of necessity. When I met him it passed through my mind what had happened and I felt sorry for him and wondered how someone could treat someone who is so sweet, so wrongly.

I waited at the hotel for 3 hours with just 3 other fans and then we found out that Leonard had arrived and entered the hotel via an entry at the rear of the building, I took a brazen step and just walked directly into the hotel through the front entry, walking briskly like I had a right to be there, incredibly no security stopped to question me and I made my way to the rear of the hotel where I found myself standing in amongst Mr Cohens band and entourage, I looked about for Leonard and soon learnt he had already taken the lift to his room. Sullonely I walked back out the front of the hotel and told the fans we’d missed him.

We decided to wait a while on the chance he may come out, but it was getting late, we talked amongst ourselves trying to suss out what we think he might do for the night, and then it played out. It had been an hour and I noticed a guy walk out the hotel front entry wearing a cap and suit………..thats him ! I told the fans and we walked calmly over to him as he was casually going for a walk with his new manager along the streets of Sydney.

I called his name and he turned to see me holding the painting. He was so kind, calm and relaxed and he Showed genuine approval of my work as I asked if he would like to sign. He didn’t hesitate and asked me where to sign, and he wrote this great legible autograph, nice and big ! and he even very acceptingly agreed to do a photo with me, I felt so good as he put his arm around me, making me feel that he fully appreciates his fans.

A fantastic guy !
