One of the first things you think of when someone mentions Chris Cornell, is that voice! Well you do if you’re a guy, maybe not if you’re a girl.

He was here touring with another act and doing a few select solo shows in October 07 and I met him outside a busy Sydney Hotel, where after around 4 hours he walked out of the hotel through a crowd of people pretty much unnoticed. Chris is one of those people that when you see, you have to ask yourself, “is that him?” I was with a friend and I said this as he appeared, we were still unsure, but I insisted we try to get the guys attention. So without making a moron of myself I pulled out the painting and held it close to me but in view of this guy we thought was Chris to see, he looked at us and smiled walking over to us, by now we knew of course it was Chris. He said “Hi “ to us and signed my painting and when we asked for photographs he was pleased to do so, not making us feel hurried at all. After all the photos and signing for us, he asked us if we knew a good place to go get coffee. I so much wanted to suggest to him that we all go somewhere together, but I didn’t want to invade his privacy. After suggesting a place he walked off alone, it was about 15 mins or so before he returned, my friend and were still at the hotel, and we asked Chris if he found the place, to this he told us, “ yeah but I realised I don’t really have time right now, I have to go to work “. How cool! He was due on stage in a couple of hours, I only wish like millions of others that this was work for me!
